Treatment options
Treatment options for breast cancer are initially identified according to the stage of the disease. There are several modes of treatment including surgery, radiotherapy, endocrine therapy and cytotoxic chemotherapy. However, the management of an individual patient will depend on many factors including menopausal status, hormone receptor status and treatment preferences.
The final treatment regimen selected, following discussion with the patient, will depend on the individual circumstances making it difficult to manage the disease by following a systematic treatment algorithm.
