ECCO 2007

The European CanCer Organization (ECCO), formerly known as the Federation of European Cancer Societies, has worked towards improving patient treatment and care through its biennial congresses for the past 25 years. The 14th ECCO congress held in Barcelona, Spain from September 23 – 27, 2007, focuses on the translation of the high volume of laboratory and clinical research into improvements in clinical practice that are available to all patients.

The 2007 Annual Meeting of the American Society of Clinical Oncology was held in Chicago, IL, USA from 1 to 5 June. Here we report on just a few of the many and varied oral and poster presentations given on the management of women with breast cancer, and highlight a couple of the education sessions on adjuvant endocrine therapy and optimizing chemotherapy. Abstracts from the meeting are published in the June 20 Supplement to the Journal of Clinical Oncology
